Council Location and Contact Information

The Alton Knights of Columbus Council 460 is located on East Fourth Street, one block west of St. Mary’s and one block east of Marquette High School.  The Grand Knight for 2017 - 2018 is Jay Springman. Upcoming Activities

Queen of Hearts Game drawing every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Spaulding Club clubroom at 405 E Fourth street Alton. Open to the public.  

 

Thursday, January 10th is the monthly council meeting in our hall starting at 7:30 p.m. Join us for the rosary preceding the meeting starting at 7:05.

 

Sunday, January 27th there will be a major degree in our hall. Registration starting at 12 noon with degree ceremonies starting at 1 p.m.

Knights of Columbus State Bowling Tournament

The Springfield Chapter of the Knights of Columbus will be holding their annual bowling tournament on Sunday February 10 at Bowl Haven Lanes in Alton. This tournament is a qualifying competition for the Illinois State Council's 2019 State Bowling Championship. Champions and state qualifiers will be determined in Team and Singles Competition.

Entry fee is $25/bowler on a team, with 2 members of the Knights of Columbus required in a 4 man squad. For team bowlers wishing to participate in the singles competition there will be an additional $10 fee and the bowler’s team score will be used for his singles competition. Cash Prizes are part of the competition, with net proceeds going to the support of Springfield seminarians through the Chapter. Qualifying teams and singles bowlers will compete in the state finals held in Decatur on Saturday, February 16. Singles qualifiers on teams that do not qualify will bowl individually in the singles competition at Decatur. A copy of the entry form can be obtained here.  

God Squad Bingo

Bingo to benefit the St Mary’s and Sts Peter and Paul God Squad youth groups is held in the Knights of Columbus Spaulding Club hall at 405 E Fourth St every 2nd and 3rd Monday of the month. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with an early bird game at 6:45. Regular bingo games start at 7 p.m. 

Council Meetings

Council Meetings, for members only, are held the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM.   All meetings are held in the hall. Please join us at our meetings. Rosary preceding meeting at 7:05.

Alton Knights of Columbus Bowling League

Starting in 1923 the Alton Knights of Columbus Bowling League is one of the longest running continuous bowling leagues in the state of Illinois. The league bowls on Monday nights at 6:45 at Bowl Haven Lanes in Alton. If you are interested in joining our league please contact Jim Schwegel at 466-4208. About Our Council

Council 460 works closely with the two Alton parishes, St. Mary’s and Ss. Peter & Paul, providing funds for various projects, our members being active participants in their parishes.  Our hall and banquet room is available for rental for special events such as wedding receptions and fundraisers.  Council 460 sponsors an annual golf tournament, St. Louis Cardinals outing, tootsie-roll fund drive, blood-drive and toy collection for needy children and other charitable endeavors throughout the year.  We welcome new members and look forward to meeting and greeting you.  We look forward to utilizing your talent in advancing our charitable and fraternal work.
